In this section we have for example, audio CDs which are also DVDs, a multimedia CD that can be put into your computer so you can learn the dances and more.
The CD side of the Bannal release - Bho dhòrn gu dòrn - features newly-re corded traditional waulking songs, but since the art is a very visual one, the company have included a 30-minute DVD on the flip side.
In 2008, 9 tunesmiths were locked away for 2 days in Roxburghshire to compose tunes inspired by the Borders landscape, history and people. The tunes they produced were numerous and of impressive variety
“The Island Tapes” features original live music to silent films recording life on St Kilda, Harris, Skye, Orkney and Shetland in the 1920s and 30s, plus a sixth film exploring Scottish emigration to North America. Alongside Scottish guitaris David Allison is Scotland’s foremost classical guitarist Allan Neave, the Berlin-based fingerstyle maestro Ian Melrose and the superb Gaelic singer Alyth McCormack.
