The World Pipe Band Championships is an event that happens annually on Glasgow Green. Pipers and drummers from sixteen countries converged on Glasgow Green for the 2008 World Pipe Band Championships. More than 40,000 spectators saw the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band from Vancouver, Canada, take the The World Pipe Band Champions 2008 title.
