    Aidan McEoin
    Aidan Mc Eoin, originally from Co. Clare southwest Ireland moved to Scotland some 16 years ago. He was instrumental in setting up performance poetry platforms both in Edinburgh and Glasgow before moving to the Scottish Highlands.

    Aileen Carr
    For Aileen Carr, it was hearing the likes of Belle Stewart at the 1967 Blairgowrie Festival that was a defining moment - not to mention the day she was given, at teacher training college, a copy of Norman Buchan and Peter Hall's 1973 'Scottish Folksinger'.


    Alan Reid
    Alan has been an ever-present member of Battlefield Band since 1969, just a few months after it's inception. He was the first to use keyboards as an integral part of a traditional folk band.


    Alasdair Fraser
    Alasdair is fiddler much-loved for his strong lyrical playing and masterful technique. His dynamic fiddling, engaging stage presence, and deep understanding of Scotland's music have created a constant and international demand for his solo appearances and concerts with a variety of ensembles.


    Alasdair Gillies
    Alasdair teaches the Carnegie-Mellon University Pipe Band in Pittsburgh. He also has 17 years of experience as piper and Pipe Major with the Queen's Own Highlanders, serving for many years as instructor to prepare recruits to be Regimental Pipers.

    Alasdair MacCuish & the Black Rose Ceildih Band were formed in the early nineties at the height of the Ceilidh dance revival in Glasgow and have long been recognised as the 'leading lights' of the ceilidh band world.
