Various Artists - Legendary Pipers and Pipe Bands Volume 1: This collection of vintage recordings - 16 tracks in all - features some of the best known names in the world of piping. All of the solo pipers featured Seumas MacNeill, Pipe Majors John D Burgess, JB Robertson and Willie Ross - are no longer with us but their music and prestige lives on and we can enjoy some of the piping legacy they have left behind. The two pipe bands featured, The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders and The Edinburgh City Police represent the best of military and civilian bands with their own illustrious histories and achievements. Although there are some imperfections in the original recording, the CD has much to offer the listener.
