Only Time Can Tell: Sandy Marshall (Sannock) is a versatile singer, songwriter and member of the popular Perthshire folk band Tarneybackle. Sannock writes good songs and eight of the fifteen on this collection are self-penned.The recordings illustrate his pleasant voice and uncluttered arrangements allowing the songs themselves to shine.
The name Sannock is an old Scots word for Sandy and can be found in a letter by Robert Burns to James Tenant of Glenconer in which he wrote: "An' Lord remember singing Sannock, wi' hail breeks, saxpence and a bannock"
