Roddy Matthews - Friends Forever: Fiddler Roddy plays music from Scotland and his Northumberland home which has strong tradition of its own strengthened by the musical repertoire of the Northumbrian Pipers. Here we have a super selection of dancing and listening music, including some of his own jaunty compositions. Reels, jigs and marches, waltzes, slow airs and hornpipes from around the north of Britain, with backing from equally talented friends in the shape of Jim Nichol (piano, keyboard, bass), Gary Forrest (accordion), Scott Nichol (accordion), Iain 'Stretch' MacFadyen (drums, percussion), Kathryn Tickell (northumbrian pipes, fiddle), Catriona MacKay (harp). The album is named for the wonderful people of Shetland and is a slow air which was written and performed for the Shetland Accordion Fiddle Festival in 2003.
