Mike Vass and Dave Wood - Wait, What?: Malinky band members fiddler Mike Vass and guitarist and bouzouki player Dave Wood have joined forces to make this rather fine CD which features eight instrumental tracks and one song. A mix of traditional material, contemporary and self-penned compositions works well and the arrangements are excellent. A particular mention for the '3 Steps' track which finishes with John Morris Rankin's great tune ' Michael Rankin's'. Brilliant! Mike and Dave are joined by guests Damien O'Kane (vocals, banjo, guitar), James Lindsay (double bass) and Stevie Fyvie (drums, cajon, percussion).
