You say "Fans of the Runrig sound will enjoy this" - I'm not so sure. This is NOT the Runrig sound. This is a strong hark-back to the 50's / early 60's , to Hank Marvin, to songs about railroads and marriage, about home. Yes, the ceilidh sound is discernible at times, but it's the period guitars, the clear lines, the basic rhythmic drums and crooning harmonies that really make the atmosphere on this album. It's a slow grower, listen and listen and listen and you get hooked in. It's totally sincere and personal, and the no-fuss retro arrangments let this through in a way that the big Runrig sound doesn't. Calum sings a lot, and makes a more than creditable job of it. This is Rory and Calum's album, lovingly crafted, brave, exposed. This is not Runrig. Buy it.
