Monthly news summary of all the happenings and up and coming events in the Scottish Traditional Music scene.
Aly Bain writes "I have long wanted to bring this original album out on CD. The recording was made in November 1984 in Shetland at Viking Vision - long since defunct. Margaret's Waltz was for a while the most requested piece of music on Radio Scotland, and the Barrowburn Reel can be heard wherever traditional musicians meet. Some recordings seem to date quickly, but this one for me stays fresh as ever. My thanks again to Violet Tulloch (piano), Willie Johnson (guitar), and Mary Gair (bass) for their contribution. The recording is respectfully dedicated to my parents who have both died since the original album was made and to my late friends Ronald Cooper, Arthur Argo, Tich Richardson an Tom Anderson."
Musicians: Aly Bain - fiddle, Violet Tulloch - piano, May Gair - bass, Willie Johnson - guitar. Track 9 Aly Bain - fiddle, Tich Richardson - guitar, Tommy Thompson - banjo, Jack Herick - bass
