    The Flow Country

This fantastic tune book named for the beautiful Scottish area of Caithness & Sutherland  was first published in 1987. Because the tunes it contains have become so well-known and  loved by folk musicians in the time since, they have almost become "old favourites". Here you can find the seminal "Easy Club Reel", the signature tune of the ground-breaking band that bore its name and a tune recorded by for example folk musician Simon Thoumire and pipe band The Vale of Atholl to name but two. Other fiendishly twisting reels  like The Ostritch,The Linguist or The North Sea Chinaman brilliant tunes all and a tribute to the composing prowess of Jim Sutherland. This is a great book  and one which deserves to be in any tune lovers collection.

A leading figure on the Scottish, UK and international music scene, Jim Sutherland is a producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and composer, whose twenty-year career has ranged across the fields of rock, pop, folk, dance, ambient, electronica, rap, world and chamber music, as well as a string of major commissions for film, TV and theatre.
