This information booklet was  produced to compliment the CD 'The Muckle Songs' which appeared in the Scottish Traditions Series. The Scottish Tradition Series consists of a selection of material previously held in the archives of Edinburgh University's School of Scottish Studies and collected over a period of 40 years.

This fascinating little booklet contains so much information on these classic Scots Ballads.  There's not just the song words but the background and history associated with them. As it says in a quote" The past is felt here, not as a dead weight but as a friendly hand pressing us forward, and our memorials speak to us of life and vigour, of daring and achievement".
