Duncan Johnstone - His Complete Compositions (Book & CD)

Duncan Johnstone 'His Complete Compositions'. This book contains all of Duncan's famous tunes such as 'Farewell to Nigg', 'The Isle of Barra March' and the piobaireachd 'Lament for Alan My Son' plus many many more. Duncan Johnstone, 1925 – 1999, was a prolific composer of excellent pieces. Some of his tunes are part of the standard folk and piping repertoire already. Contains thirty-four marches, eight strathspeys, a reel, twenty jigs, three slow airs and three piobaireachd all written out fully in piping notation.

The book comes with the innovative CD "Bows and Drones"  which includes archive recordings made by Duncan Johnstone and also some of his best know tunes interpretated for the cello by his son Neil a nationally recognised musician. The CD also includes Duncan's piobaireachd 'Lament for Alan My Son' played by Robert Wallace.
