Stushie are a young trad band with 8 out of the 10 band members living in the Callander area of Scotland. They have been playing together for six years and have twice won the group competition at the National Mod. Many of the individuals in the band have also had considerable success at the Mod competing as soloists. They sing and play a mixture of traditional, contemporary and self penned material which is characterised by their own unique sound. Their instrumental line-up includes fiddles, flute, cello, bass and double bass, guitar, djembe and cajon. They perform regularly in Scotland and have also supported The Cast in Canada in 2008. They will be performing at Celtic Connections in 2010 as part of the School Series Concerts. What is particularly noteworthy about the band is that they are all still at school with four of the band members still only 13 years old (At the end of 2009).
