Sarah Northcott is one of the Scots Music Group’s most experienced and popular tutors, equally at home with straight fiddle tuition, mixed instrument groups and music theory workshops. Sarah plays with The Robert Fish Band, The Little Biggar Band, and as a duo with SMG tutor Matt Smith.
The Scots Music Group plays a significant role in Scotland’s vibrant melting pot of traditional music. Through the provision of classes, workshops and a variety of social events they encourage active participation by students and tutors in traditional music.
Sarah is the author of “Beginning to Read Music for Traditional Musicians”, which explains the basics of written music in simple, jargon-free language.
