Ronan  Martin from Skye started playing at the age of three. He studied at the Gaelic College Sabhal Mor Ostaig on Skye, before heading to Edinburgh to study design (and get into the music scene). He joined accordionist Sandy Brechin's 'The  Sensational Jimmy Shandrix Experience' and, back in the north again, he helped form two new bands whose main focus was Highland music and Gaelic song. He has travelled the world as a solo fiddler and with various musical friends and in 2008 made his first solo CD.
