    Ron Gonnella

    Bookmark and Share

Ron Gonnella was a violinist renowned for his immaculate playing and beautiful tone. He was also a school-master at Morrison's Academy in Crieff.

Ron Gonella's style was elegantly classical, yet unstuffy, with an inimitable precision and discipline that helped to create a warmth and breadth of tone that few could match. His playing epitomised the very essence of Scottish music as created by early composers such as Gow, Marshall and Mackintosh.

    Albums:

Music Of The Fiddle Volume 5 (CD)
An album of great historical, as well as musical, interest, as the fiddle tunes of Niel Gow, William Marshall and James Scott Skinner are played on their own fiddles, by one of the great players
