Roddy's father is the renowned player, judge and composer of bagpipe music, William MacDonald (Benbecula). His grandfather, Donald MacDonald was Pipe Major of the 1st Battalion the Highland Light Infantry. Roddy now pursues his musical career in Australia and Japan but his brilliant compositions continue to grace the repertoires of bands and musicians across the world. His work has been recorded by artists such as Martyn Bennett, Gordon Duncan, The Tannahill Weavers, Cantrip, Simon Fraser University Pipe Band, The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, Shooglenifty and more. |
