    Mairearad Green

    Bookmark and Share

Originally from the Wester Ross village of Achiltibuie, Mairearad is now based as a professional musician in Glasgow. She is a member of The Anna Massie Band, Box Club and The Poozies. Mairearad is equally talented on the accordion, the pipes and the piano and has been making a name for herself as a composer.  Her Celtic Connections 'New Voices' commission 'Passing Places' -  a musical and filmic journey through the spectacular scenery and cultural riches of the Wester Ross Coigach peninsula -  was filled with memorable tunes which earned her a standing ovation from the audience and a five star review from The Scotsman. Mairearad's tunes are rapidly becoming popular session tunes and have been recorded by other bands and her popular  "Dram Behind the Curtain' was recorded by Eddi Reader in 2009.
