LAU are a brand new trio pulling together their influences which span a triangle covering most of the UK, from the west coast of Scotland, up and across to Orkney and down to the east of England. The combination is a modern sound with all the depths of these traditions backing it up.

Aidan O'Rourke, Martin Green and Kris Drever have a wealth of experience and finesse which give them license to play with a rare freedom. Despite the traditional music tag their combined efforts make something new.

    Kris Drever (guitar & vocals)
Kris is an Orcadian multi instrumentalist, from singing and guitar playing to banjo and double bass. He has been in great demand since moving to Edinburgh in 1995.

    Martin Green (Accordion)
Martin grew up playing English and Irish traditional music in the south of England . He has played with many of the great singers and players of English music including Martin Carthy, Norma Waterson, Kathryn Tickell, Linda Thompson, and a long-term collaboration with Eliza Carthy culminatining in a duo album "Dinner" released to great acclaim in 2001.

    Aidan O'Rourke (Fiddle)
Aidan is a fiddle player and composer from the Isle of Seil of the West Coast of Scotland. He has toured extensively in Europe and North America from the age of 15 and has made his name as one of Scotland ’s most expressive and dynamic musicians. Aidan now performs with the hugely successful Blazin’ Fiddles.
