George Macpherson should have been born on Skye, like his father and grandfather before him, but he arrived early, in 1933 when his mother was away from the island visiting relatives in Greenock. The family's oral tradition suggests that they have been in Glendale much longer than the mid nineteenth century that written records suggest.
Now retired from the business he ran on Skye, he spends his time as a storyteller and writer. He has told his tales in France, Germany, Spain, Malta, England, Bali, Thailand and Australia.
He has produced two books of tradition tales, and plans two more
