Formed in 2005, the band members are some of Shetland's top traditional musicians playing a range of music from Traditional Shetland, Nordic and Celtic influenced folk music, hence the band name. The bands popularity in Shetland shows as they have played at the Shetland Folk Festival, providing support for Shooglenifty and Peatboag Faeries, The Flavour of Shetland Event, Fetlar Foy and various regattas and sprees throughout the Islands. In summer 2008 the band sailed on the Swan LK243 across the North Sea to Norway and performed at the Måløy Tall Ships Race Event.
Fullsceilidh Spelemannslag normally have a line of about 10 musicians, a smaller 'flying squad' version of the band have played in Denmark, Norway, Belgium and the North of Scotland, this depends on the type of event.
