Orkney musician, composer and teacher Fiona Driver started playing at the age of fourteen and is mainly self taught. She won several competitions as a teenager for her solo Scottish playing and composing before going on to play at events like the Shetland Accordion and Fiddle Festival, Orkney Folk Festival and WOMAD in Reading.
She has recorded an acclaimed CD and recently published a book of newly composed tunes in traditional style. The collection which reflects the recent resurgence of interest in traditional music in Orkney and highlights the work of no fewer than fifteen young tune writers.
