David Milligan is one of the highest regarded pianists in Scotland. Born in the Scottish Borders in 1971, and a Post-Graduate of the City of Leeds College of Music, David is heavily involved in a wide variety of projects within the UK music scene. His principle reputation lies in his work as a jazz pianist, but in recent years he has been exploring and developing a unique crossover style of piano playing. Merging his natural talent for jazz and improvisation with the traditional folk music of his native Scotland, he has created his own inimitable sound and has performed throughout Europe, the USA, Canada and Asia.
David is also part of several highly successful musical collaborations including a duo with concertinist Simon Thoumire with whom he has recorded the highly successful CD The Big Day In . He is also a founder member of band Bachue alongside harpist singer Corinna Hewat and both are musical directors of Scottish big band phenomenom The Unusual Suspects |
