Mairearad Green: Equally talented on the accordion, the pipes and the piano, Mairearad is a member of The Anna Massie Band (winners of the 2006 Best Folk Band Award at the Scots Trad Music Awards) and can also be seen performing with the Unusual Suspects and The Poozies.
Gary Innes: From Spean Bridge a wee village up in the north west of Scotland, gary has the accordion since he was 8 years old . He has play all over the world including trips to China, Kazakhstan, USA, Italy, France with the Darien Project and others. He also recorded an album under Skipinnish records in 2005 which was recorded and produced by Capercaillie's Donald Shaw.
Angus Lyon: Has been playing the accordion since he was 5 years old and the piano since the age of 14. As a session musician he has recorded and perform with many amazing artists and musicians including Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), Sir Paul McCartney, Maartin Allcock, Rick Nowels, Craig David, Nick Bict & Dr Fred Freeman. Gary has recorded two albums (simple tricks & 18 months later) with Ruaridh Campbell. In 2006 the duo were nominated for the folk band of the year at the Scottish Trad Awards.
John Somerville: Musician and composer fusing elements of accordion with new, traditional and original soundscapes. He has played with Croft No. Five, Salsa Celtica, Session A9, John Rae's Celtic feet, Fire in the Bog, the Vital signs and Walkabout Ceilidh band . Written music for the Arches theater companies darkly comic version of 'Tam o Shanter' and the magical Eastern European fairytale production of 'Hansel and Gretel'. |
