    Fresh scottish fiddle tunes...

Three great young fiddlers whose musical style and backgrounds are rooted in different parts of Scotland get together to choose some tunes, then, allowing only a short time to rehearse, record them while everything was still fresh and exciting.

    Artists:

Jennifer Wrigley - Jennifer was born and raised in the northern Scottish islands of Orkney. She got her first fiddle at the age of eight and with her twin sister Hazel who plays guitar and piano went on to make their first CD Dancing Fingers at the age of 16. Jennifer is a winner of the prestigious BBC Young Tradition Award and she and Hazel have toured all over the world to great acclaim their sparkling playing and brilliant musicianship making them favourites wherever they go. Their fifth album Skyran was released on their own Geosound label. Jennifer and Hazel were also founder members of the band Seelyhoo.

Allan Henderson - Allan is originally from the West Highland fishing village of Mallaig and now lives in Fort William. He began learning the fiddle at the age of nine under the tutelage of the ‘left-handed fiddler’ Angus Grant. Allan is also a piper and founder member of Blazin’ Fiddles. He plays with the Fergie MacDonald Band and with Iain MacFarlane and was one of the first students to graduate from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama in Traditional Music. He has a solo CD out called Estd. 1976.

Julia Legge - Julia , originally from Montrose, moved to Edinburgh in 1989 where she became a regular player on the session scene. Julia was a founder member of the Gaelic band Tannas with whom she recorded two albums. Julia is also a member of the Jason Dove Ceilidh Band.

Sandy Wright - Edinburgh born Sandy [guitar] has played various genres of music all over the planet. Also known for his singing and song-writing, he has recently released an album with the band ‘Russell’s House.’ Sandy also plays with ‘Steppin’ Stanes’ and his beautiful lyrical guitar work can also be heard on Simon Thoumire’s ‘CD’s ‘Waltzes for Playboys’ and ‘Celtic Connections Suite’. recently he formed a duo with fiddler Amy Geddes and their CD 'Over the Sky to See' is available on this website.
