    Alistair McCulloch

Alistair has been Scottish National Fiddle Champion on three occasions and is in constant demand as a performer both at home and abroad. The past two years has seen Alistair tour Spain, Switzerland, Hungary, Canada, America, Venezuela and Dubai.

As well as having a highly successful solo career, Alistair is a member of the bands 'Coila'and ‘Canterach’ and for several years was a soloist with the renowned Scottish Fiddle Orchestra. He also works widely as a session musician having performed and recorded with, among others Donald Shaw, Alasdair Fraser, Malcolm Jones, Dougie Pincock, Anne Lorne Gillies, Chris Armstrong, Peter Morrison, John Carmichael, Moira Kerr and Donald Black.

Alistair has appeared on over thirty commercial albums and was the fiddler on the hit BBC children’s TV programme, Balamory.

His talents also lie in composition and one of his most recent commissions was to compose a suite for William Grant & Sons of Glenfiddich Whisky. His first book of compositions has recently been released to widespread acclaim. Demonstrating his considerable talents as an instrumentalist, Alistair has released two solo albums, 'Highly Strung' in 2000 and ‘Wired Up’ in 2003. His teaching roles include being musical director of the Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra, which recently toured Australia and New Zealand and principal tutor at Glasgow Fiddle Workshop.
