Alastair MacDonald is one of Scotland's favourite showbiz personalities. A highly talented international performer, singer, song-writer, recording artist and broadcaster - Alastair often humbly describes himself as a "banjo player". He is equally at home in a jazz club, folk club, variety show, theatre or concert hall and was a well-known face on television in the 60s and 70s.
Alastair is a wonderful musician and accompanist who has graced many a stage in the jazz world but he can also take credit for popularising the songs of people like Jim MacLean and Matt McGinn throughout his career.
